The GEF Small Grants Programme

Pistachios are a practical exercise for farmers and all

We invite all interested farmers to participate in the training on the creation and maintenance of industrial pistachio plantations in Jizzakh region.

The SGP GEF project, in partnership with the ISCAUER Multi-Country Capacity Building Project (GEF \ PROON \ GIZ \ GM), invites landowners and all stakeholders in the arid regions of Uzbekistan to participate in a one-day training workshop. on the technology of creating pistachio industrial plantations ... This technology is the most economical way to use land in the arid foothills of Uzbekistan.

The seminar will be held on July 10, 2012 at the Galyaorol Fortress of the Republican Research and Practice Center of Forestry and Forestry (Jizzakh region). A limited number of participants, mostly farmers from other parts of the country, receive small financial assistance that covers part of the transportation costs to attend the workshop. Others can attend the training at their own expense.

Instructions for registered participants will be sent by telephone in addition after registration. The language of training is Russian.

All available information about the training is given below.

Thus, work is underway to distribute pistachios as a strategic species for efficient land use in arid foothills.

This time, our project, in cooperation with and with the financial support of the ISCAUER Interstate Capacity Building for Sustainable Land Management project, is conducting workshops for farmers across Uzbekistan.

The training will be held at the Gallaorol supply point, which has about 30 hectares of pistachio plantations under the Republican Forestry and Forestry Research Center. These plantations have different functional purposes (harvesting unit, industrial plantation, almond pistachio, mother plantation, etc.), different soil preparation, different ages, different mixing and placement schemes, and so on. Therefore, these seedlings are of interest to anyone interested in creating a varietal industrial plantation on their land.

This is where you can combine the theoretical part with a practical exhibition and conduct a seminar on the most effective development of pistachio growing. This allows participants to acquire not only the amount of knowledge they need, but also practical skills - that is, learning by performing specific actions.

For better integration, each operation is done in kind, i.e., each speaker demonstrates in a personal example how it is done in a production environment. To make it easier for students to remember the entire process, they will be given handouts in the form of a booklet consisting of a large number of photographs and a short piece of text for each operation.

It is very important to select the appropriate target audience to make the most of the planned workshop. The direct beneficiaries of the training will be farmers and other participants who have rented or intend to rent land in the foothills. The practical part of the training is mainly designed for this part of the participants, as it is the most interesting for them and necessary for future work. There will be an absolute majority of such participants. They should represent all the important areas of the foothills - Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand. Jizzakh, Navoi, Tashkent.

It is important to persuade the legislature and the executive to change the use of land in the area so that farmers and other stakeholders can engage in pistachio cultivation in the future. It is up to them to pass laws, bylaws and regulations that allow for long-term targeted leases of land, to provide tax breaks to farmers and to enable them to produce pistachios before they begin to bear fruit. obtaining microloans on favorable payment terms.

The seminar should be attended by representatives of relevant institutions in order to strengthen the research of the heads of science and education, the need to attract young professionals in this field.

Such work should be carried out not only on agricultural lands, but also on the lands of the State Forest Fund. The main forestry should provide tenants with the necessary conditions for the development of pistachio growing. Therefore, the representatives of this Glavka must attend the seminar. Their main job is uncleldi lalmi lands for long-term targeted lease. If the Glavles do not lease their land on a long-term lease, no one will receive it, which means that the land will not be covered by forest plantations. Long-term rent is a key factor for people to start planting forests.

Media representatives are needed to cover the seminar and the need to develop pistachio growing in our country.

The venue is expected to be a pistachio plantation, ie a field setting, where the demonstration facility itself is located, but there are no facilities for presentations, nor for short breaks and lunches. this plantation is located very far from the nearest regional center (50 km) of Gall Island. Given that the pistachio plantation itself is a unique object not only for Uzbekistan, but also for Central Asia, this choice is not accidental. There are about 30 hectares of pistachio plantations, which have a valuable collection unit containing about 30 varieties / forms of pistachios for commercial use. Here, participants will be able to imagine with their own eyes what a pistachio plantation will look like, how to organize the area, how to prepare the soil for the terrain, and so on. Therefore, the potential costs associated with convenience for workshop participants are fully covered by what they see and hear.

The first participants of the seminar, registered from remote areas, will be invited to stay in a hotel in Jizzakh on Monday afternoon, July 9. The rest can decide at their own expense, because the amount of funds for V participation is limited. Transportation from the hotel to Galla Aral will be held on Tuesday, July 10, at 7:00 am. Here, at a clearly defined location, until 8:00 a.m., they will be joined by participants from other locations where this meeting point is more convenient. At 8:00 a.m., transportation of participants to the Gallaorol Fortress of the Republican Scientific-Practical Center of Forestry and Forestry will continue. Participants are expected to arrive at the workshop site at 9:00 am.

The training will be conducted by a team of pistachios led by G.M. Chernovaya, a leading forestry specialist. - Botman E.K., Nikolai L.V., Tulaganov T.E.
