On April 1-4, 2013, within the framework of the UNDP project "Improving the efficiency and sustainability of the Nizhne-Amudarya State Biosphere Reserve", training seminars on the introduction of the Biosphere System were held in 4 districts of Karakalpakstan. Reserve Management Plan, Inventory of Cultural Heritage Sites and Tourism Development in the Biosphere Reserve.
The first two days of the seminar were organized for the staff of the Nizhne-Amudarya Biosphere Reserve and were held in the Biosphere Reserve.
Over the next two days, seminars were held in Beruni and Kipchak villages of Amudarya region for representatives of regional administrations, non-governmental organizations and local residents.
The Global Environment Facility's Small Grants Program, which actively participated in and conducted trainings on “Attracting International Donor Funds through Cooperation with PMGEF”, was invited to participate in the workshop on April 3-4.

PMGEF Public Relations Assistant made a presentation and spoke about the Program's activities in Uzbekistan. Afterwards, the workshop participants were given detailed explanations on how to start attracting international donor funds, how to formulate your project idea, and how to communicate with donors in the future. Practical advice on how to apply for donor assistance was provided

During the meeting, a practical lesson on how to properly apply for a project was conducted on the example of applying to PMGEF. At the end of the meeting, the PMGEF Assistant and workshop participants practiced on the sample applications received by the Program for compliance with the PMGEF criteria.

At the end of the workshop, Project Manager Khurshid Norov invited the PMGEF representative to visit the buffer zone of the Nizhne-Amudarya Biosphere Reserve to get acquainted with the results of the latest project activities and to show the working conditions of the workers. staff.
