Meeting with GEF NNO Council

Dear PMGEF applicants, representatives of the non-governmental sector!

We are pleased to announce that the Global Environment Facility (GEF) is once again planning to hold an expanded workshop for stakeholders in Central Asia, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, Tajikistan. Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation. The GEF Secretariat would like to have an expanded representation of civil society representatives (NGOs, other non-governmental organizations in the field of environmental protection) to receive feedback on the GEF case.

The workshop will take place from April 30 to May 2, 2013 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The workshop will be attended by representatives of civil society, the GEF Secretariat, GEF agencies, as well as the Centers for Biodiversity, Desertification, Climate Change and Chemical Conventions.

Objectives of the workshop: To review the practical aspects of project preparation for the GEF and to discuss the activities of the GEF to support projects in the field of environmental protection.

The Secretariat will cover the participation (accommodation and travel expenses) of one representative from each country. Participants who are eligible to pay for themselves will be considered first and their participation in addition to paid representatives will be encouraged.

The deadline for registration is April 13, 2013.
Participants will be selected according to GEF criteria and procedures.
