In this issue, we have tried to show what economic benefits the technologies and practices of sustainable use of natural resources for people, demonstrated by our projects, can bring. The GEF SGP in Uzbekistan is trying to show approaches to nature conservation not from the usual point of view - not from the point of view of importance for nature protection, although this is what we ultimately want to achieve, but how the technologies being introduced will help people, what they will bring to people, what are the real benefits they will give to people. After all, it is the benefits for themselves that attract people and help spread environmental technologies. When it benefits people, they want to adopt new, innovative approaches to the use of natural resources.
