This information brochure contains information about our native desert plant species with environmental and economic benefits. These plant species were selected for testing in the project areas of the UNDP-GEF joint project and the Main Department of Forestry of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Achieving ecosystem stability on degraded lands in Karakalpakstan and the Kyzylkum desert." The project area is located in the vicinity of the villages of Kyzyl Ravat (Bukhara region) and Kazakhdarya (Republic of Karakalpakstan).
Thanks to the project, we have the opportunity to obtain a visual image of the plants growing in our deserts, with detailed information about their biological value, growing conditions and methods. We hope that this will contribute to their recognition by the local population and reasonable use. The brochure will be of interest to the population living in or near deserts, for farmers and livestock breeders, as well as simply for people who are interested in learning more about the nature of their native land, in this case, the nature of the deserts of Uzbekistan.
