Sale of eco-bags in Uzbekistan
June 5, 2014
June 5 - On the occasion of the World Environment Day, which is widely celebrated around the world, an action was launched in Uzbekistan to sell eco-bags. UNDP / UNV's project "Social Innovation and Volunteering in Uzbekistan" together with the Korzinka.uz supermarket chain initiated a social project to introduce eco-bags in Uzbekistan.
PROON / UNV's Social Innovation and Volunteerism in Uzbekistan project has been promoting the culture of social innovation and volunteerism in Uzbekistan for several years, offering innovative solutions to social problems, as well as helping people and various organizations. causes interactions between
This time, PROON / UNV's Social Innovation and Volunteerism in Uzbekistan project, in partnership with the Korzinka.uz chain of stores, is launching a new initiative to promote eco-bags in Uzbekistan. The initiative is aimed at raising public awareness of the environmental impact of plastic bags, encouraging consumers to stop using plastic bags and switch to recyclable environmental packages.
It is noteworthy that Korzinka.uz supermarket chain alone buys more than 60,000 customers a day! Given that each customer carries an average of 2-3 bags, especially given that there are many other supermarkets and markets in Tashkent, it is easy to draw conclusions about how many used plastic bags there are. a burden on our environment only within our city! As an exemplary measure of social responsibility, the supermarket chain Korzinka.uz not only supports the introduction of eco-bags, but also aims to replace standard plastic bags with biodegradable bags by the end of this year. unlike standard packages, packages that tend to disintegrate in the soil.
It should be noted that the sale of eco-bags is a completely social project. This means that the idea of developing and promoting the concept and design of eco-bags is carried out entirely by volunteers - active and progressive young people. In addition, eco-bags are produced in the workshops of social enterprises established with the support of PROON. Therefore, by purchasing eco-bags, buyers not only contribute to the protection of the environment, but also support women in need of social protection from the population working in these shops.
Korzinka.uz has prepared a very "delicious" news for its customers, in addition to the sense of duty that buyers feel when buying eco-bags: from now on with a one-time purchase of products worth 200,000 soums. , if an eco-bag is purchased, customers will receive a bonus card. Given that today the condition for receiving a bonus card is 300,000 soums, this news should please many customers of Korzinka.uz supermarkets.
The campaign to launch eco-bags will last from June 5 to June 7 in three different branches of Korzinka.uz and will be organized entirely by the efforts of eco-volunteers. The eco-bags launch campaign will be officially opened by PROON management and representatives of the Korzinka.uz supermarket chain.
As part of the campaign, visitors to the Korzinka.uz chain of stores will be shown a variety of eco-friendly bags for later purchase and reuse. Once the campaign starts, buyers will be able to buy these eco-bags in all branches of Korzinka.uz.
The campaign will last for 3 days from 17.00 to 20.00 according to the following schedule:
