Announcement to Participate in an Expanded GEF Representative Meeting

Dear friends, colleagues from the non-governmental sector

Building on the success of the first year of expanded representative meetings, the GEF Secretariat is organizing a second meeting for the countries represented on the GEF Council by Switzerland:

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The purpose of the meeting is to further strengthen participants' knowledge of strategic priorities, programs, policies and procedures in the 5th GEF budget cycle (GEF-5).

The meeting will take place on September 25-27, 2012 in Yerevan, Armenia.

The GEF Secretariat would like to have an expanded representation of representatives of the civil sector (NGOs, other non-governmental organizations involved in the environmental sphere) in order to get their opinion on the investment program and future partnerships.

The Seretariat will cover the participation of one representative from each country (accommodation and travel expenses). Participants who can pay for themselves will be considered first and their participation is encouraged in addition to paid representatives.

All interested civil society representatives are invited to register through the on-line website at: https://www.thegef.org/gef/content/gef-ecw-cso-registration-armenia

All applications must be completed by September 4, 2012.

You should also know that the selection of participants will be carried out according to the criteria and procedures that are available on the GEF website at - http://www.thegef.org/gef/node/4051 or you can familiarize yourself with them from the document below:
