MicroGES in White Machit Village

The project for the installation of a micro hydropower plant in the village of White Machit, Fergana region, has been submitted for public discussion.

As always, our next project is the installation of a micro-hydropower plant in the village of White Machit, Fergana region.

As you all know, we have a lot of problems with electricity supply in rural areas. Lack of electricity is a limiting factor in rural development - small industrial enterprises are not working, rural hospitals, schools and other institutions are not working at full capacity. So, the economic turnover has decreased, the employment of the population has decreased, and all the consequences that arise from it.

Thus, the availability of sustainable electricity can be a good factor in the socio-economic development of the region. We have written in detail about the availability of water as an alternative energy source - see here.

Entrepreneur Rahmatullo Shodiev

We have now received a request from a local businessman from the village of White Machit to help rectify the situation in the village where he was born and raised. Two shops, which can employ at least 25 people, are not working. Together with the Village Neighborhood Committee, he offered to rectify the situation with the help of a micro-hydropower plant, which could serve as an example to others, as we have many canals across Uzbekistan. Such canals could become a sustainable and “green” source of energy for the rural population.

So, we would like to bring this project to your attention for comments, questions, suggestions.
