Water, you have no taste, no color, no smell, you cannot be described,
you enjoy not knowing what you are.

On December 5, 2012, a training seminar was held in Tashkent to demonstrate and teach farmers the technology of drip irrigation. The workshop consisted of two phases - a presentation of different drip irrigation technologies, theoretical materials explaining the essence and advantages of the technology, and hands-on training for farmers to independently prepare drip irrigation. irrigation system. The workshop was attended by more than 50 farmers from many provinces, representatives of specialized educational institutions and water user associations. The workshop was organized by the Global Environment Facility's Small Grants Program in Uzbekistan with the support of PROON.
Currently, there is an acute shortage of high quality fresh water, energy prices are rising, the ecological condition of irrigated lands is deteriorating, and this situation requires the development and introduction of clean and safe technologies that allow the use of resources. and energy-saving methods for engaging in agricultural activities.

Photo Life Scale ...
A drop of water from a pond fills the whole world of living beings, but the ordinary person on the street does not realize it, because it is a world invisible to him. However, just as a drop of water gives life to many micro-organisms, it is also a source of life for all visible life there. Why water is a planet and we are alive. We are the result of the existence of water on earth, of its dominance. But his dominion can be weak and fragile, and the loss of even a single drop, even if invisible, leads to the death of beings. As you know, from small things - big construction. Everything in the world is natural. Everything has its place. And interdependence is everywhere.

Alexey Volkov, PMGEF National Coordinator in Uzbekistan, will introduce the seminar.
In order to understand these interrelationships and to understand the laws of nature, in particular, the "laws of water and land" and the proper use of these resources, on December 5, 2012 in Tashkent organized a team of Small Grants Program was made and held. Shodlik Palace Hotel National seminar on effective drip irrigation technology.

Tatiana Nemtsan, a PMGEF guest and grant holder in Kazakhstan, will share her experience.
The event was organized in cooperation with our neighbors - representatives of Kazakhstan, participants of the Global Environment Facility's Small Grants Program in Kazakhstan. The idea of organizing a seminar with the participation of Kazakh colleagues to share experiences was born a month ago. And with a special interest in our activities, we were able to hold this seminar at the required level. The Kazakh guests brought with them a Russian-made drip irrigation system and successfully tested it at home, in the yard and in the summer house. They brought their system to show workshop participants how the system works, what it consists of, and to dispel stereotypes about the value and unreliability of the system.

A seminar guest from Samarkand region with a question to the teacher.
Representatives of local authorities from each region of the country were invited to the seminar. Participants included direct farmers, staff from specialized educational institutions, and members of farms and water user associations. The workshop focused on many aspects of water efficiency, with the goal of conserving water resources, improving soil quality, and improving agricultural production. production. Prospects for the introduction of new water management technologies in the face of water shortages in the country were considered.
The seminar was also attended by a representative of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Land Reclamation, who spoke about the technologies and drip irrigation systems developed by the institute on its own experimental site. Another participant of the seminar was a representative of the joint project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the United Nations Development Program "Integrated Water Resources Management and Water Conservation Plan for the Zarafshan River Basin." Low Pressure Drip Irrigation Systems on Farms and Dehkan Farms ”discussed effective irrigation methods and how to get cheap and affordable water from existing wells using original pedal pumps.

“KRASS Oybek Egamberdiev, a representative of the NGO "SS", talks about the projects in Khorezm region.
KRASS, a non-governmental non-profit organization from Khorezm region, our grant recipient, also spoke about the project, during which a new technology for isolating an irrigation canal was tested. The seminar was also attended by our grantees, including Boltaboev Abdulvahid, a farmer from Namangan region, who has been using drip irrigation on his farm for many years and is currently preparing to launch a drip irrigation system. of the project.

Kazakh guests demonstrate drip irrigation technology.
At first, the seminar was "one-sided" but boring. There were a lot of people in the hall, people were from different corners of the country and the air conditioning process took some time, but as soon as the speaker asked the hall, everything changed, tired “woke up” and a heated discussion began. Farmers have begun to ask questions, many of whom have long since hatched eggs and are unable to turn to experts. Seeing the enthusiastic interest of the audience, the speakers responded to them with satisfaction. In particular, Abdulvahid Baltaboyev, a farmer from Namangan region, told about his many years of experience and plans, which were of interest to other farmers. There was real work. From farmer to farmer, there was a lively exchange of experiences. This dialogue encourages farmers to come up with new, fresh ideas and solutions. This is the main point of what we have done.

Seminars.
After getting acquainted with the system, participants were divided into two groups, each under the leadership of one of the Kazakh guests, who had to assemble, test and connect the system faster than the other group. water supply. This practical lesson aroused great interest and showed how well the information obtained was mastered and provided an opportunity to reinforce it in practice.
It is known that one of the activities of PMGEF in Uzbekistan is to assist local communities in solving existing problems in the field of water use and to adapt the population to the impending water shortage. Through its projects, PMGEF in Uzbekistan promotes innovative and efficient irrigation practices that help increase water efficiency.

Here is a new "value system"! Ready! I'm working!
Life is born on earth and its essence can be understood by comparing the earth with the human body. It is the most important and most capacious water in the human body, all other mechanisms are a useful application, the same as with land. Waterless land is lifeless soil, although it has accumulated many riches in its depths, but water is the cradle of life, its longevity, the guarantee of soil fertility.
And let us not forget that water is not an infinite source, nor is it infinite in its purity. And so whoever has to think about it and take care of the water, no matter how many people there are, always keep in mind that he has to give life to more people after us.
Water is the cradle of life, a priceless blessing, the heritage of the earth!
Not surprisingly, they say:
Learn a little - you will be wise
Drop by drop - a lake is formed
Without a drop - the desert ...
