The PROON project "Business Forum of Uzbekistan - Phase II" and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced a competition for the best energy supply project using alternative energy sources. The purpose of the competition is to identify and pilot innovative projects for the energy supply of households in rural areas, as well as livestock (poultry) enterprises using alternative energy sources.

The organizers of the competition are:

• Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan;
• Forum of socially responsible citizens of Uzbekistan;
• GEF Small Grants Program in Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the competition:

Identification of innovative projects in the field of energy supply to rural households and livestock (poultry) enterprises using alternative energy sources.

Terms of the competition:

The competition is held from July 25 to September 30, 2013. The deadline for submission of project applications is September 30, 2013.
The official ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition will be organized from 10 to 25 October 2013. *

Nominations:

The winners of the competition will be determined in the following areas:

• "The best project to provide rural households with electricity and hot water supply using alternative energy sources";
• "The best project to cover the needs of livestock and poultry enterprises in gas, electricity and heat using biogas plants."

Prizes for the winners:

The winners of the competition in both directions will receive valuable gifts from the organizers and a certificate for financing the preparation of a working project for a pilot implementation.

* The final decision on the selection of the winners remains with a specially created commission from among the representatives of the organizers of the competition. The Commission reserves the right to exclude the above nominations from consideration if the received works do not meet the requirements set for each of the nominations.

General requirements for participation in the competition:

• Participants must be individuals or legal entities - residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• Co-authorship is permitted;
• The number of works is limited - 1 work per 1 participant / group;
• Works are accepted in Uzbek and Russian;
• Participants must respect copyright;
• The organizers of the competition reserve the right to use the project applications of the participants;
• To participate in the competition, you must receive a project application form by contacting e-mail at info@bfu.uz or by phone (+998 71) 150 1260.
• The completed project application must be sent by e-mail to info@bfu.uz. In the subject line, indicate "For the competition".

Requirements for projects:

Projects proposed for participation in the competition should be aimed at creating an efficient energy supply system based on alternative energy sources in the announced directions.
