On October 4-5-6, 2013, 30 volunteers from Tashkent, Samarkand and Moscow gathered at the Ecocenter to participate in the annual total animal census. In total, 52 people took part in this event (among them 22 employees of the Ecocenter). On October 4, the staff of the center conducted a briefing explaining the accounting methodology to the participants. On October 5, a survey was carried out on the old territory, and on October 6 - on the second new territory.

During the count, the participants walk through the desert from 3 to 7 km and count the animals they meet according to the method.

Many participants regularly come to register from year to year and over the years have become close friends of the Ecocenter. Thanks to such disinterested people, accounting has been a good tradition of the Ecocenter for over 30 years.

In total, 533 gazelles, 93 kulans and 24 Przewalski's horses were counted in two plots and in open-air cages.
