Plantation laying – «points of growth» of pistachio in Tashkent region

On April 24, 2015, in Bostanlyk district, Tashkent region, an open practical training will be held for farmers and dehkans on the creation of real pistachio plantations on a varietal basis.

The foothill and mountainous regions of the Tashkent region are the places of natural growth of many Central Asian walnut breeds, among which the most valuable walnut fruit of Central Asia - the real pistachio - occupies a special place. In the Tashkent region, comfortable places for its growth are quite extensive and extend in the range of heights of 650 - 1200 m above sea level, where nature and climate provide ideal conditions for growing pistachios and make it possible to create industrial plantations of this crop.

How to create plantations, starting with site preparation and ending with planting seedlings, will be discussed at the upcoming training. The training is carried out on the initiative of the Republican Scientific and Production Center for Ornamental Horticulture and Forestry on the territory of a farm near the village of Saylyk, Bostanlyk district.

Farmers and dehkans from the rainfed areas of the Tashkent region are invited to participate in the training. The organizers will also be glad to see and tell about the pistachio cultivation technology to all interested parties.

Pistachio has high adaptive advantages and is more cost effective than any type of agricultural activity in arid foothills. As a valuable product in the world market, it can become a strategic culture for Uzbekistan!
