Several words about drip irrigation

The road while traveling is always an interesting view. Everything is changing behind the window, something new is constantly appearing. The road back from our trip along the country has brought us another interesting moment. We decided to visit our friend. We won’t tell you where it happened by the request of our new acquaintances. Further you will understand who they are. Our friend knows that we are occupied with protection of the environment and told us the following story:

There was a district near their village – absolutely bare land where nothing grew, and as a pasture it was not fertile enough. Nevertheless, it is a drought region. Some people took that land with an area of 400 ha, installed modern system of drip irrigation there and got an excellent crop. On the total area of 400 ha they planted the corn. People rumored that the owners of that land had invested 3 billion of sum and got income of 18 billion. But that was just rumors. Of course, nobody would give us such information. But we decided to look at this wonder with our own eyes in order not to believe in rumors.

We pulled off the road intentionally and found that lands. We really saw huge lands planted with corn. A special tube was stretched in each row and water was dripping on each plant. Everything was managed automatically. We decided to make the acquaintance with the farmers. They told us everything about the technology, about their first steps in implementation and how everything worked. Of course, they did not provide us with financial information and asked not to tell anybody who they were and where this technology worked. But anyway, fact is a fact. The technology of drip irrigation is working well in Uzbekistan.

And it is just a fact for those who says that this technology is expensive, that water in Uzbekistan has high content of suspended particles, that this all is very difficult to implement and it will not work in our country. It is working! Those who want to work, is working. We were absolutely admired with the whole picture. We also have farmers and smart investors who consider natural resources as capital, who use it carefully and wisely, invest in it and this capital is more than repaid. Agriculture, like any other manufacturing requires accurate and professional approach when all the factors of production are taken into account, and the land and water are also capital that requires investments in order to make a profit in future. That is a short story about drip irrigation.
