We have great news, which I hope will not leave you indifferent.
We announce a contest of the best slogan for our project to promote wildlife protection in Uzbekistan.
This project involves many partners, but let us explain everything step by step.
A little bit of prehistory
The project idea belongs to my friend – a designer Ekaterina Kovshova. It was she who started a discussion about how much is being done in other countries in this direction (for example, Russia is now actively supporting the program for preservation of the tiger, saiga etc.), and unfortunately how little is being done in our country.
To attract people's attention, it is necessary to arrange it so that people’s attention is attracted it by itself. It is tautology, but nevertheless. How can it be made? An idea came to us to bring it to our Uzbek celebrities (pop, sport stars in Uzbekistan), whom everybody knows. Celebrities are painted in like wild animals, and then are photographed by an amazing photographer, and are presented to the people. At the same time celebrities express their attitude towards wildlife. Thus, it is planned that a finished object will be a visual image of celebrity, hiding under the mask of a wild but extremely nice animal, and beside it there will be their statement and their name, and all this will be united under one motto (slogan).
Ekaterina Kovshova herself will create a visual image with technique of body art. A wonderful photographer Svetlana Kanaki and her studio have agreed to create amazing photos of painted stars. Now we are looking for stars and images for them.
Two stars have already agreed to participate. They are DJ Petishka and Larisa Moskaleva. We are very grateful to them for their consent to participate in our project and for their courage of being the first. DJ Petishka is presented in the form of an owl, and Larisa Moskaleva as a lynx. You can see the first sketches. Currently, negotiations with other stars are carried on.
But all this would have remained an idea without aid of the partners. Where should this all be put? Here we hope for help of the JcDecaux advertising company. This company has agreed to help the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in placement of the social advertising along the city free of charge. And owing to this, we hope these images will be seen by millions of people, including guests of the capital.
In addition to placement of billboards along the streets of Tashkent, we have an idea to make a calendar and send it throughout Uzbekistan in the end of the year. There are 12 months in the calendar. And that means that we need 12 famous persons. But we want to make 11 images of stars, and leave 1 image for the winner of our competition.
