The probability to preserve Ramsar territories

If there are people who are not indifferent to preservation of water-boggy lands as one of the most important places of inhabitation for many birds and animals, they have a chance to do something.
Sergey Zagrebin, Chief technical adviser of UNDP-GEF project on reserves, an ornithologist and just a man who cares about the nature, has kindly shared information with us about the contest organized by the Secretariat of Ramsar convention of receiving small grants for preservation of the water-boggy lands. Currently, 227 projects have already been financed by their small grants programme. Now a new contest is announced.

Probably, there are people who want to create a project on preservation of our Ramsar territories. I know that not so long ago one or several water-boggy territories of Uzbekistan were joined to the Dengizkul lake. Unfortunately, I still do not know what exact territories were joined.

Though, a wonderful project could be done together with Small Grants Programme of Ramsar convention and the GEF SGP in Uzbekistan on preservation of our Ramsar territories.
Unfortunately, in the web site you can find only information in English. But I am sure that those who really want would find the possibility to prepare the project. There are a lot of young specialists and just enthusiastic youth who know English and are ready to help.
