In Farish the results of the ecoligical contest “Jonajon ơlkam tabiati” (“The wildlife of Motherland”) among the students of secondary schools of Farish district were summed up.
During spring holidays in Farish the results of the ecological contest were summed up in a framework of the GEF SGP project “Development of informational ecological center “Nuratau-Kizilkum””.
According to the contest Charter, approved by Farish District Board of Education and national Coordinator of the GEF SGP, the participants of the first round of the contest were to prepare home work in writing – a composition on the topic “The wildlife of Motherland”. From 9th to 15th March the announcements about the contest were spread along all schools of Farish district during the transportable photo exhibition and at the meeting of District Board of Education. The last compositions were submitted on 22 March, 2010. 42 students of 7-9th grades from 22 secondary schools of Farish district took part in the competition.
The compositions were evaluated by two criteria:
1) The content (completeness of topic development, consistency of presentation, style, ability of proving own point of view on a particular topic, usage of literature works and other sources of information, emotionality);
2) Literacy. The maximum rating for each performance is 5 points, the maximum total rating for composition is 10 points.
From 42 works, 3 participants got maximum grade – 10 points, 6 persons got 9 points, 8 points were taken by 23 participants, 7 points – by 7 and 6 points were got by 3 participants.
Based on the results of the first round 10 participants passed to the second final round. 9 of them are participants with maximum score for the composition (9 and 10 points), as well as one author of the best composition who got 8 points. 10 participants successfully passed the first round of the competition. The winners were Maftuna Norbekova (school #5, 9th grade), Maftuna Ochilova (school #12, 9th grade), Shohruh Boboev (school #15, 9th grade), Oydin Sadfullaeva (school #20, 9th grade), Charos Elibaeva (school #33, 9th grade), Binafsha Mavlanova (school #55, 7th grade), Barchinoy Turgunova (school #59, 7th grade), Shodiyabegim Sharofiy (school #59, 8th grade), Dildora Tugilboeva (school #68, 8th grade), Mahliyo Inyaminova (school #79, 9th grade).
Teachers, journalists, staff of Board of Education , specialists of regional committee for preservation of the Environment were juries of the contest. They decided by a solid vote
to award the authors of 5 compositions who developed well the assigned theme with certificates of honor and recognition gifts for an active participation in the contest. The best participants won in the close contest: Adilova Mashkhura (school #1, 7th grade), Hafizova Shokhida (school #1, 8th grade), Alibekova Gulshoda (school #7, 8th grade), Amirova Zarnigor (school #12, 7th grade), Farkhatova Dilnoza (school #15, 7th grade).
Among the competition works Sharofiy Shodiyabegim, Inyaminova Mahliyo and Turgunova Barchinoy showed the undoubted ability of writers. It was decided to publish the compositions of these participants in the local and regional press, as well as on the GEF SGP site.
In the second round the participants were asked 4 questions and one puzzle and those who gave the right answers were asked extra question.
Based on the results of the ecological quiz among 10 participants only Maftuna Ochilova got the maximum score 21 from school #12 from Kulba settlement. She got the first prize and won a digital photo camera. The second place winner was Shohruh Boboev, a student of school #15 from Egizbulok settlement. He won a binocular. Mavlyanova Binofsha – a student of school #55 of Past kucha settlement got the third place and she got a photo camera as a prize.
In a solemn ceremony the winners were rewarded by the project staff and assistant of the GEF SGP Nodira Muhammadkulova. The participants received not only prizes of the GEF SGP, but also the certificates of honor of the district office of PYM "Kamolot". Schools in which the winners are studying, were given posters of the project "The most important ornithological areas. " Moreover, the winners got CD-ROMs with documentaries about the nature of Uzbekistan made by the director of SUE Uzbektelefilm E. Mirzaev – “Nurotaning turt fasli", "Morhur izidan", “Tabiat bilan yuzma-yuz”, as well as a documentary about the human impact on the Planet Earth «HOME» (Rendezvous with the planet).
In the end the students and their teachers, parents who came to support the participants thanked the initiators of the contest and showed interest in holding of similar contests on the topic of preservation of the Environment in their schools.
