The results are very long-expected as we put on trial the patience of the participants of our contest on television, video and radio clips which was started by us a long ago.
We wanted to make the contest very mass and give us results which we could use by sending them to television and radio for further translation by the national television. Deadline for the works was postponed several times as there were very few works and they were not of the quality we had expected.
So what do we finally have?
22 participants submitted their works to the contest. Totally 34 works were submitted by different nominations:
Radio clips – 7 works;
Television clips – 10 works;
And
Video clips – 17 works.
The jury which consisted of 4 people evaluated the works by the following criteria:
1. Relation to the announced subject area of the contest, to the subject matter of GEF or in other words, the way how our 3 subjects were revealed in the works – biodiversity, land degradation and climate change.
2. How creative and interesting the works were – we tried to find not the clichés but something interesting that really stimulates people to change of their behavior.
3. The quality of presentation, i.e. could we use their works for further aims of environmental propaganda and education.
Unfortunately, there were very few works which were noteworthy and could meet our requirements. It was decided not to allot ranks as it was announced but give prizes according to the submitted work. In other words, we measured prizes with the submitted work and the way it met our requirements.
And it was decided to give prizes only for the works which met our expectations related with the contest. All other prizes will be transferred for other contests of the GEF SGP in future.
So, the work of Yuliya Melentyeva “The guys” was recognized as the best radio clip and she was rewarded with a two-person trip to the guest house in Nuratau mountains with the excursions to the developed eco paths. The author was really prepared well and read our materials. It is very good…
The nomination of television clip had only one work which was worth of a prize. This was the work of Sergey Sukhanov “Electric fishing rod”. We took into account the fact that Sergey Sukhanov also had an excellent work in the nomination of “Video clip”, the work about Charvak, so it was decided to reward him in aggregate with the main prize of the contest – with the video camera.
In the nomination “video clip” there were many interesting works. There are some works we want to highlight:
All members of the jury liked the work of Iliza Garaeva from the point of view of the content and creativity. She got the highest points. Unfortunately, this work is not a video clip per se, it is just presentation with photos and accompanied by music and text. It is quite suitable for broadcasting by television. But nevertheless the idea is amazing and in spite of some inadequacy, this work is rewarded by our prize – a TV set and prepaid trip to the Djeyran Ecocenter for the author’s family.
Now let’s move on to serious works, which came very close to our competition.
Shavkat Yuldashev had some good works but the jury liked “My tree” mostly. This work got the prize – editing PC. The jury also liked the work of Sardor Kuzabaev “We have only one planet”. This work was also rewarded by a prize- a notebook. There was just one condition to translate the text of this work into Uzbek. One more work which attracted our attention – “The trees and office”, the work of Sevara Giyasova. She was also rewarded by the prize – a TV set, with the condition of making some corrections in the work…
So, we are happy that the contest was conducted and we could find some good works as a result of the contest. You can see all good works here below. All works will be sent to the national teleradio companies. Perhaps, if the editors of these companies will like them, we can see them on the screens of our TV sets and hear from the loudspeakers of radio transmitters and hopefully, it will help our people to make our country better, with more beautiful and healthy nature…
