Implementation of the training program "Applied ecology and sustainable nature management"

There is probably no need to talk about the importance of environmental education at all levels of our society. Without preserving nature, we will not be able to maintain any hope for the normal existence and development of our society. Natural capital is what we live off of. It is "capital". Without saving capital, without investing in it, we will not receive "dividends".

Knowledge in this area is extremely important. That is why we propose to start this project.

The initiators of the project are a group from the Urgench State University.

What is proposed to be done within the framework of the project:

The proposed project aims to make a feasible contribution to improving the quality of environmental education for university students and increasing the professional knowledge and skills of the scientific and pedagogical staff not only of universities, but also of colleges and secondary schools, and therefore of the entire younger generation of the country.

The project does not aim to fundamentally change the existing curricula of universities and institutes for advanced training, but rather seeks to introduce and add applied skills and abilities components to the curricula related to ecology and environmental protection.

The project consists of four modules, which will be implemented in turn:

Module 1. Adaptation and refinement of the curriculum and lectures on the subject "Environmental problems and responsibility of leaders", developed for the Academy of State and Public Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. in 2010, by NGO KRASS employees within the framework of the UNDP-GEF project "Strengthening National Capacity for the Implementation of the Rio Conventions through Targeted Institutional Strengthening and Professional
Development". The adapted curriculum will serve as the basis for the development of a new curriculum and lectures for the subject "Applied Ecology and Sustainable Environmental Management".

Module 2. Approbation (as an additional subject at the initial stage) of the new curriculum and lectures on the subject "Applied ecology and sustainable environmental management" in 4 pilot universities of the country - Urgench State University, National University of Uzbekistan, Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute and Namangan Engineering - economic institute and further introduction of the approved program into the curricula of universities and colleges of the country.

Module 3. Expansion of access to various forms of education and the creation of a methodological office on applied ecology at UrDU with the possibility of duplication in other universities.

Module 4. Increasing the professional competence of the scientific and pedagogical staff of universities, colleges and schools in subjects related to ecology and environmental protection through focus training / retraining at the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Khorezm region.

We offer this project to your attention.
