As you probably know, every year, on June 5, all progressive humanity celebrates World Environment Day. This day is designed to attract the attention of all people to the existing problems of our nature, try to think that our whole existence depends on the health of existing ecosystems, to think what would happen if we do not care about the great wealth - about nature, which gives us water, air, climate for comfortable living, food, clothes and all that we have.

State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Small Grants Programme of Global Environment Facility (GEF SGP) in Uzbekistan and the Youth Environmental Network (YEN) of Uzbekistan prepared a series of separate events, but which are united by one theme. So,
on June 3rd a national symposium devoted to energy conservation, rational use of land and water resources and preservation of biodiversity in a changing climate, will be held. At the symposium, the main question is how global change of the climate affects the lives of our people, their ability to farm and have a stable income, the possibility of rational use of biological diversity in our country, the practice of using land and water resources. Anyone who is interested in the issues of climate change and its impact on people's lives can become a participant of the symposium.

Exhibition of mini-power installations for rural residents – is a joint project of the GEF SGP and YEN "Promotion of small-scale alternative and energy efficient installations among the rural population of the Republic of Uzbekistan" arranges an exhibition of technologies that are being implemented by the project on the territory of our country. These are simple and practical installations that allow you to save energy, which is so important in the life of our people in rural areas. Everyone will be able to take part in exciting competitions, to test the installation in operation and answer the quiz questions, get a lot of prizes.
Also, using the chance, other projects of GEF SGP will also be presented in the exhibition. The exhibition will be held for 3 days - on 3rd, 4th and 5th June.
Among other things, the young generation in Uzbekistan will be able to participate in the Youth Environmental Forum - "Take a step!" on June 3rd. In this forum, the most active and those willing to do something for the benefit of the environment, will learn to write environmental projects and to realize their eco initiatives, and also get acquainted with eco projects that have already been successfully implemented in Uzbekistan.
