Pistachio trees grow slowly, but live up to 900 - 1000 years. One legend says that the person who heard the crack of the opening pistachio shell, will be lucky. They say that lovers specially go to the forest to hear the crack of the dissilient stone and become happy for the rest of their life together. According to Muslim legend, the pistachio nut was brought to Earth by Adam, along with other food.
